UMARE: Born Elsewhere
Narrative life simulator
Born somewhere. Live the rest.

Short version
Born somewhere, then every choice is yours: a whole life in pixel art.

Long version
Born somewhere. Live the rest. You don’t choose where you’re born. The globe stops somewhere on Earth: a country, a family, a name. What comes next is yours to live, scene by scene, from childhood to the final look back.
UMARE (“oo-MAH-ray”) is a narrative life simulator in pixel art: 1,132 possible scenes, relationships that grow old with you, memories and keepsakes that get handed down. At the end, a summary retraces the life and can be turned into a card to share.
Characters and events are invented. Birth settings are based on public World Bank data, which the game simplifies: it does not claim to predict or judge any life, person or country. The game deals soberly with themes of life: illness, grief, end of life. It is not intended for children under 13.
